Caring for the Whole Child
At Eagle Elementary, we believe that real learning is more than just studying. It's about understanding a child's whole self – mind, body, and spirit. Leading this mission is Lisa Cook, our Principal, who envisions a space where students are accepted and encouraged to reach their full potential.
Lisa says, "Eagle Elementary is a place of growth and empowerment. Our goal is to help and celebrate each student's unique journey. We're not just helping them do well in school; we're guiding them through life."
Supporting Students’ Mental and Physical Health
We know that how you feel is really important for doing well in grades K-5. Working with Guiding Point and Families First, we help students and families by offering important mental health services and counseling when things get tough. Dreams Academy (for boys) and Queens Academy (for girls) helps our 4th and 5th graders learn about themselves and how to be kind to others.
We also care about physical health. Teaming up with TES, we give students important services like speech and occupational therapy, plus checks for their eyes and ears. The Akron Dream Center ensures that kids have enough to eat, even on the weekends, so they can grow well and be healthy.
Extending Learning Beyond the Classroom
Outside the classroom, the Summit County Book Mobile comes by every two weeks, bringing exciting books to explore. This isn't just about reading; it's about loving to learn new things!
And then there's our After School Program – an extension of our commitment to students. We've partnered with Guiding Point to create a special place for growth and care. The best part? It's free with insurance! Guiding Point helps with counseling during school and ensures students continue to thrive in the afternoons.
