Ten Things to Know About Assistant Principal Brittany Johnston
A new school year brings new opportunities. This year, it also brings a new face to Eagle Elementary of Akron. We have brought in a new Assistant Principal to support the students, families, and staff at our tuition-free K-5 school. Her name is Brittany Johnston, and we are excited to have her join us. Here are 10 things you need to know about Mrs. Johnston.
1. Mrs. Johnston brings a diverse educational background to Eagle Elementary, with experience teaching various subjects and eight years in high school special education in North Carolina.
2. She has a strong passion for educational administration, finding joy in the daily variety and the opportunity to positively impact the school community.
3. As the Assistant Principal, Mrs. Johnston is crucial in assisting Principal Lisa Cook and helping students and staff with whatever they need, making each day unique and rewarding.
4. She values the opportunity to get to know her students personally, making every day a chance to learn something new about them.
5. Mrs. Johnston admires the dedication of the teachers, especially their attention to small details that make each student's day special.
6. She cherishes the sense of family and unity within the Eagle Elementary community, where everyone shares a common purpose and a positive, happy atmosphere prevails.
7. Mrs. Johnston believes that being a great leader means being caring and flexible, emphasizing the importance of caring for staff and students.
8. Her responsibilities as Assistant Principal are diverse, ranging from supporting staff to overseeing the cafeteria, highlighting her adaptability and willingness to contribute wherever needed.
9. Outside work, Mrs. Johnston enjoys spending quality time with her family, friends, and her fur baby, Frank. She has a love for the beach and enjoys taking vacations. She's also a fan of reality TV and scary movies.
10. Mrs. Johnston's roots are in the Akron area, making her return to the community a homecoming. Her familiarity with the area adds a personal touch to her role at Eagle Elementary.
Bonus: Mrs. Johnston's preferred choice between pizza and ice cream is pizza, and she particularly enjoys deluxe pizza without black olives.
